Google got approved the patent for technology, that enables management of the autonomous driving cars. The patent is described in details in the manner, by which the vehicle can be controlled by human drivers or the system of automatic management.
The car could for example, come to a certain location which is based by visual indicators, such as bar codes or radio signal and automaticaly switch to the autonomous system operation. Such a system would enable a driver to bring the car to the road intended for autonomous vehicles, where such vehicle will then be switched to autonomous mode.
Google states on the official blog, that for solution to that, they have hired the best engineers for autonomous vehicles, with whom they could expand their use. Their main goal is to reduce traffic accidents and relief drivers over long distances and also with such a system they could help to reduce harmful emissions.
