The camera, which was developed in Massachusetts Institute of Technology, is able to monitor the movement of photons, with trillion frames per second. It allows researchers to explore in detail how the light is diffused around the specific object. It also enables the production of three-dimensional images of objects in a similar way as ultrasound, detection of various errors in the manufacturing and adding different light to photographies, after they have already been taken.

Researchers of MIT Institute says that this ultra-fast camera allows studying the ways of traveling photons, and can create a secondary image, or some kind of illusion, what would happen if the light would be traveling in some other way. The camera can also see inside individual objects, which is very useful in medical imaging and identification of materials. The entire system that enables this super-fast image capturing, is made from ingredients whose total cost is approximately 250,000$.
